Homestead Community Center - Adult Day Programs
The Community
Center provides
supportive day programs for
adults with developmental
disabilities. Such services
include adult basic
education, physical
education, health and
wellness programs, including
physical, occupational and
speech therapy, vocational
training, pet therapy and
self-advocacy support.
Homestead Community Center
is also the site of varied
activity-based programs
including computer games,
print shop, painting, dance,
music and tai chi classes.
The center is also the site
of Petal Works, a small
business that delivers fresh
flowers to area businesses
and individuals on a weekly
basis. Plans are underway
for the establishment of a
senior program to support
people with and without
disabilities.
The Adult Day Services
Division offers a variety of
employment opportunities as
well as a number of unique
and diversified day programs
for people with
developmental disabilities.
All program participants are
assigned a caseworker who
oversees the provision of
services as outlined in the
consumer's individual
support plan, and who
functions as a liaison among
the agency, families and
community based
organizations
The primary goal in Adult
Day Services is to promote
full participation of people
with developmental
disabilities in their
communities. Our Adult
Residential Services provide
a variety of living
arrangements. Such as, group
residences, independent
living apartments or any
other configuration suitable
to them and their families.
