Summary Statement:

Provides clinical supervision and/or consultation in accordance with Department of Human Services’ standards for the Home Based Therapeutic Services Program (H.B.T.S.).   Provides specific expertise and direction to include: therapeutic regimen, functional behavior assessments, direction in emergency situations, therapeutic plan development, training and observation of home based workers and trouble-shooting major issues with the team and/or families.

Responsibilities or Duties:

1.    Provides individual or group supervision of home based treatment workers working with the child.

2.    Participates in interviews/meetings with families to identify specific needs/target areas.

3.    Completes functional behavior assessments.

4.    Collects and manages data and assists with summary reports.

5.    Develops treatment plan by defining goals and objectives and determining most effective method(s) to responding to challenging behavior.

6.    Instructs home-based workers on proper implementation of treatment interventions.

7.    Review and processes incident reports per agency policy as necessary.

8.    Attends meetings or appointments with outside parties as applicable.

9.    Provides resources to families regarding various services, transition planning, and             other services/supports as might be necessary.

10.  Assists with transition process when child is exiting the program due to age or other

       reason.

11.  Completes all required forms in accordance with DHS and CEDARR Centers, as         well as documentation required by The Arc of Northern Rhode Island.  

12.  Reports potential safety/health hazards and significant incidents to supervisor.

13.  Provides direction in emergency situations.

14.  Problem-solves major issues with the team and/or families.

15.  Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

Licenses and/ or Certifications: 

Certification as an Applied Behavior Analyst and/or valid licensure as a health care professional (as described in the D.H.S. licensing regulations) through the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Other:

Requires tact, cooperation, initiative and judgment when interacting with a variety of internal and external personnel such as persons served, staff and family members of persons served.
